Mobile TV encoder passes MS conformance testing
14 November, 2008 - 12:14Envivio's 4Caster C4 Three Screens multi-channel, multi-profile encoder has been qualified by the Microsoft Mediaroom Interoperability and Qualification Lab (IQ Lab) for SD video encoding.
The testing programme performed by the IQ Lab is designed to ensure long-term interoperability and compliance of encoders and other critical components intended to support deployments of the Microsoft Mediaroom IPTV platform.

Designed as an integrated solution for IPTV, Internet TV and mobile TV applications, the 4Caster C4 supports digital, analogue and MPEG-2 Transport Stream over IP inputs, and a range of video and audio encoding options to support efficient delivery of content to the Three Screens. The 4Caster C4 supports a wide range of encoding formats including the Chinese AVS video compression standard.
The 4Caster C4 can support one channel of high definition or multiple channels of standard definition encoding for IPTV. It also offers optional support for Picture in Picture, Internet TV encoding up to VGA resolution and multi-profile encoding for mobile TV streaming. For mobile TV applications, 4Caster C4 can deliver 3GPP, 3GPP2 compliant streams for playback on a wide variety of mobile devices.
