Video news comes to Android
8 March, 2010 - 09:08In what will be a boost to the Android platform as it builds up its portfolio of applications, Newsy has made an Android App available to download from the Android Market.
Newsy.com is claimed to be the only multi-source, multi-platform video news service producing daily videos that analyse the differences in how a story is being reported by various news organisations. As part of its commitment to leading the mobile video news market, Newsy.com developed its app for Android-enabled devices and currently is developing for other mobile platforms. An iPhone app has already been on offer since the end of 2009.
Enhanced mobile access to Newsy.com's multi-source news videos is designed to offer users of Android-enabled devices one-touch access to a clear interface to multi-source news videos. Updated instantaneously with the website, the application allows users to browse videos with the interactive slideshow or search specifically with keywords.
The app will also allow users to share videos via Twitter, Facebook and email as well as read and post comments - which are immediately synced with the website. It also features a 'Sources' button that enables easy access to the specific news stories analysed in a Newsy video.
"Since the release of our iPhone app last year, we recognize the mobile demand for quickly digestible video news," said Jim Spencer, president of Newsy.com. "With the launch of the Newsy Android App, we're now able to bring that superior experience to a much wider audience."
